Nel 2021 l\u2019organizzazione medico-umanitaria indipendente compie 50 anni: un\u2019occasione per testimoniare ci\u00f2 che \u00e8 stato fatto ma soprattutto una sfida a fare di pi\u00f9, per essere sempre al momento giusto nel posto sbagliato”.<\/em><\/p>\n

Il progetto, attivo dal 2019 in 4 Paesi (Sierra Leone, Repubblica Democratica del Congo, Repubblica Centrafricana, Sud Sudan) ha l’obiettivo di:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Assicurare una formazione specialistica<\/strong> per personale medico e paramedico locale per garantire che i pazienti vengano curati con gli standard di qualit\u00e0 necessari;<\/p>\n

\u2022 Creare una nuova generazione di personale medico e paramedico locale <\/strong>che, nei prossimi anni, sia in grado di gestire in autonomia gli ospedali e gli ambulatori in cui oggi lavora Medici Senza Frontiere anche con il personale espatriato.<\/p>\n

In Sierra Leone MSF \u00e8 presente in 13 strutture sanitarie periferiche e con il loro ospedale di Kenema.
\nL\u2019obiettivo \u00e8 di ridurre i livelli di morbilit\u00e0 e mortalit\u00e0 di bambini e donne durante la gravidanza e il parto, in un paese che registra tra i tassi di mortalit\u00e0 materna e infantile pi\u00f9 alti al mondo.
\nL\u2019ospedale dispone di una serie di strutture per l\u2019assistenza pediatrica, tra cui un pronto soccorso, un\u2019unit\u00e0 di terapia intensiva, un centro di alimentazione terapeutica ospedaliera, un reparto generale e un reparto di isolamento per i pazienti con sospetta febbre di Lassa.
\nL\u2019ospedale di Kenema \u00e8 il punto focale del progetto MSF Academy<\/strong><\/span>, con la presenza di un\u2019area dedicata all\u2019alta formazione dei partecipanti al progetto.<\/p>\n
